Time out from city life
Welcome to Helgoland

Germany’s high seas island provides that well deserved opportunity to take a deep breath of fresh air

Helgoland – Island without the hustle and bustle of everyday life

The island of Helgoland is about 60 km from the mainland and Germany’s only high seas island.

It is rather love at second sight that makes Helgoland so charming. With its 1 km² car-free size, it and the small neighboring island in the North Sea are rather inconspicuous and can only be reached by sea and air.

On the more than 250.000.000 years old sandstone rock Helgoland allows its visitors to breathe deeply. Many important poets and thinkers, writers and artists came and still come to the island of „tangible forces of nature“ for inspiration. Today, in addition to vacationers and day-trippers, Helgoland is of particular value to Nature scientists. Migratory birds and seals can be observed undisturbed on the island.

If you are looking for seclusion in the midst of nature and if you appreciate or want to get to know the iodine- and oxygen-rich climate of the high seas, this is the right place for you. Perhaps it will be love at first sight, who knows!
